NEED FROM PAUL: 2–4 short paragraphs from Eliza Taylor, in her own voice. Who she is (as much or as little as she wants public), why she started writing about church corruption, and what she hopes a reader takes away. I haven't drafted this because it's personal history I can't know.

What this site is

Corrupt Church is a collection of articles on one subject: how churches, as institutions, misuse money, power, and trust, and what that does to the people inside them.

It's written for Christians who are fed up with the church. That's a different thing from being fed up with God. Many of the people most bothered by what goes on inside churches are bothered precisely because they take their faith seriously.

What this site isn't

  • It isn't an attack on Christianity or on Christians. The target is institutional behavior, not belief.
  • It isn't a news service. Articles are analysis and commentary. Where an article relies on a news report, court record, or public document, it links to it.
  • It isn't legal, financial, or professional advice. If you're dealing with abuse or a legal issue, talk to a qualified professional.

How claims are handled

Every factual claim is sourced. Opinions are labeled as opinions, and mistakes are corrected in public. The details are on Sources & Method and Corrections.
